From Garden City Chapel and Retreat:
Thank you to Mark and Chris Lawhon from Marlin Quay for their recent gift to Garden City Chapel Children’s Home Ministry. This year, Garden City Chapel will host 15 Children’s Homes at our facilities. These children and their workers come for a vacation at the beach. There is no charge for these homes to come. They stay in our dorms for free and are treated to The Carolina Opry, Wild Water and Wheels, and Wonder Works. They also receive a Chapel t-shirt, a Chick-fil-a dinner, and snacks each day in the Sea Shack. Although there is no charge for the children’s home, all of this costs money.
In addition to gifts such as this one from the Lawhons, groups staying in our dorms are encouraged to give to this specific ministry. The money raised helps to cover some of the costs associated with this ministry. Last year the following groups were in the top ten of givers to the Children’s Home ministry. Notice that some of the groups giving were children’s homes.
